Denise is a licensed psychologist (#PSY24987) with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology (Fairleigh Dickinson University) and a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Psychology (Seton Hall University). She completed a doctoral dissertation entitled “Resilience in Mothers Who Had Been Victims of Physical Child Abuse: An Exploration of the Mediating Effects of Personality Characteristics, Coping Skills, Social Support, and Family Characteristics.” After achieving her doctoral degree, Denise completed two concurrent three-year internships at Women’s Therapy Center in El Cerrito/Berkeley and at Chrysalis Community Counseling Services in Santa Rosa. Additional past experience included employment in County Mental Health, Women’s Recovery Services, Child Protective Services, and Head Start. She also completed the Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship Program (2003-2004).
